좋은 도시라면 모름지기 청년이 머물고 싶은 도시여야 한다. 하지만 안타깝게도 서울ㆍ수도권 밖에 청년들이 머물고 싶어 하는 도시를 찾기란 어렵다. 그렇다고 서울이 꼭 (청년들에게) 좋은 도시라고 할 수도 없다. 가장 많은 청년들이 몰려 사는 서울은 전국에서 합계출산율이 가장 낮은 도시이기도 하다. 행정안전부는 수도권 밖에 청년이 머물고 싶은 도시, 이른바 '청년마을'을 만드는 사업을 해왔다. 길게 보면 올해로 벌써 5년째, 지난 5월 청년마을로 뽑힌 12곳을 포함해 전국 곳곳에 모두 27개의 청년마을이 만들어졌거나 만들어지고 있는 셈이다. 이들은 지금 어떤 모습일까. 행안부 청년마을 만들기 사업의 빛과 그림자를 살펴봤다.
